Harvey C. Albrecht, 88, Enjoyed gardening and computer games

Harvey C. Albrecht, 88 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Community Health Partners H & S Center following a brief illness.

He was born September 25, 1915 in Amherst where he was raised and has lived his entire life.

Mr. Albrecht was employed by Thew Shovel in Lorain for forty-one years retiring in 1978 as a machinist. He was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ where he was baptized as a child and served as a past trustee. He was a member of the Amherst Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1442. He enjoyed gardening, reading and computer games.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Norma E. (nee Hollingsworth) Albrecht; his sons, Michael A. Albrecht of Freemont and Robert J. Albrecht of Leeburg, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Albrecht in 1997; his sisters, Louise Camp and Florence Albrecht in 1921; and by his parents, Fredrick and Augusta (nee Lakofsky) Albrecht.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hemple Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
