Walter R. Ruble, 78, Enjoyed golf and making 3 holes in one

Walter R. Ruble, 78 of Lorain, formerly of Sarasota, FL and Canal Fulton, passed away, Thursday, December 18, 2003 following complications of pneumonia at Anchor Lodge Care Center in Lorain where he had lived for 2 � years.

Mr. Ruble was born May 17, 1916 in Akron and had lived in Canal Fulton upon retirement he moved to Sarasota, FL where he had lived for 35 years. He returned to Ohio in 2000.

Mr. Ruble had worked for the Federal Government D.C.A.S.E. as a Quality Assurance Specialist, at Babcock and Wilcox in Barberton, OH. A major portion of his employment required the inspection of nuclear submarine parts. He retired in 1976 after 28 years of service.

Mr. Ruble was a WWII, US Army Veteran, serving the Pacific Theater, namely Saipan. He was a member of the Victor Masonic Lodge in Akron. He enjoyed golf, making 3 holes in one over his lifetime. He also enjoyed boating and traveling.

His wife of 60 years, Thelma (nee Boone) passed away March 25, 2000. He is survived by a brother, Rev. LaRoy Ruble (Patricia) of Lorain and a sister Virginia Shaffer of Canal Fulton, as well as, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Mr. Ruble is preceded in death by a brother Robert Ruble and his parents, Roy R. and Effie C. (nee Lott) Ruble.

There were no services. Memorial may be forwarded to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake and cremation by Busch Crematory.
