Theresa M. Borer, 100, Enjoyed gardening and baking
Theresa Margaret Borer, 100 years of age, and resident of Amherst Township, passed away Friday, December 19, 2003 at her home after a short illness.She was born October 14, 1903 in Amherst and has been a lifelong resident.
She was employed by General Industries in Elyria during World War II. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Lorain, the Knights of Saint John Auxiliary, and several card clubs. She enjoyed gardening and baking.
Surviving her are sons Edward Borer of Wakeman and James Borer of Amherst Township, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents Matyas and Karolina (nee Kovacs) Horvath, her husband Cornelius in 1975, four brothers: Kolman (in infancy), Louis, Antone, and Joseph Horvath, four sisters: Nancy Horvath (in infancy), Margaret, Papay, Mary Ashburn, and Stella Reis.
Friends may visit on Sunday, December 21, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway Ave., Lorain, Ohio. The Parish Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. and a Christian Wake will be held at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. Mr. Luis Maldonado. Funeral services will be held Monday beginning with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Joseph Church. Father Robert Borer will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
