Henry J. Koniarski, 84, US Army Veteran, Ford Retiree

Henry J. Koniarski, 84, of Wellington, died Saturday, December 20, 2003 in Elms Nursing Home, after a brief illness.

He was born September 26, 1919 in Kent, Ohio and had been a Wellington resident for the past 12 years moving from Amherst.

Mr. Koniarski was a veteran of the US Army. He had worked for Bendix Corporation for 12 years and retired from Ford Motor Company, Lorain, after 18 years of service.

He was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, Amherst, and enjoyed bowling, gardening, wrestling, baseball, football, and his dog.

Survivors in clued one daughter, Linda Phillips of Oberlin, sons Bruce Koniarski of Pittsfield, Ohio, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers Stanley Koniarski of Richmond, New York, and Felix Koniarski of Elyria.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Gladys (nee Smith) Koniarski in 1999, mother Mary (nee Rockwell) Koniarski, and his sister Genevive Koniarski.

Friends may call Monday, December 22, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Karen Heyburn, pastor of Park Avenue Methodist Church, Amherst, will officiate. Interment will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery.

The Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside services.
