Sally Marie Telenik, 67, Enjoyed boating and vacationing

Sally Marie Telatnik (nee Nye), 67, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2003 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain after battling pancreatic cancer for over a year.

She was born January 26, 1936 in Akron where she was raised and lived until her marriage in 1957, when she moved to Amherst.

Sally received her Sociology degree from Rollins College in Florida where she was part of the water ski team. Sally was employed as a school bus driver for the Amherst city schools for 15 years. She loved vacationing on Manitoulin Island in Canada where generations have retreated for 15 years in a home built by her father and grandfather. She loved boating and playing racket ball at the Y where she also served on the Board.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years: Robert M. Telatnik; daughters: Lynn Gigliotti of Amherst, Kim Bajko of Ashland, and Teri Telatnik of Lakewood; granddaughter: Reagan Marie Gigliotti; and her brothers: Lynn Nye of Bridgeport, WV and Jerry Nye of Tallmadge.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Maurice and Thelma Marie (nee Button) Nye.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m.
