Arlene M. Knapp, 79, Enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and reading

She was born Saturday, June 7, 1924 in Olmstead Falls, Ohio and has lived in the Oberlin/Wellington area and most recently, Elyria.

Mrs. Knapp was valedictorian of her 1942 graduating class from Eaton High School. She was employed at the Oberlin Clinic as a receptionist for over 20 years, retiring in 1981. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golf, reading, gardening, and was an avid crossword puzzle fan.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Norwood, to whom she was married to for 59 years; two daughters: Noreen Pregun of Elyria, Ohio and Allyson Grills of LaGrange, Ohio; two sons: Michael Knapp of Regensburg, Germany; and Larry Knapp of Trenton, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Anna and Charles Austin; two brothers: Charles and Irving; and a sister: Linda.

Friends may call the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home; 1021 Main Street, Grafton; on Friday from 7-9 p.m., with a graveside memorial service at Resthaven Memorial Garden at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
