Frances J. Montalto, 85, Avid animal lover

Photo of Frances J. Montalto Frances J. Montalto, 85, of Lorain, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center in Lorain, following a sudden illness.

She was born December 9, 1918 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident.

Frances worked as a payroll clerk for the former St. Joseph Hospital for over 44 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Catholic Church of St. Peter and a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1963 B. Frances was a member of the SOH Club (Lorain), LESCOT, and Knights of St. John Auxiliary Drill Team. She was also an avid animal lover.

Survivors include her brother, Joseph Montalto of Lorain; sisters: Grace Rinaldi of Hawthorne, California and Joan Plumb of Orlando, Florida; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and special friend Albert Bodmann.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred and Frances (nee Rosso) Montalto.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2003, at the Dombroski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home; 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain.

Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 29 followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Catholic Church of St. Peter; 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Kenneth Wolonowski will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pyle Road & Middle Ridge Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
