Alfred T. Zurinsky, 88, Enjoyed gardening and woodworking

Photo of Alfred T. Zurinsky Alfred T. "Slim" Zurinsky, 88 of Vermilion and formerly of Lorain died at his home on Thursday, December 25, 2003, in Vermilion, Ohio following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Zurinsky was born on August 15, 1915, in Eriton, PA. He was a graduate of DuBois High School where he met and married Blanche J. Zmitravich on July 15, 1939.

He was employed at the Kramer Coal Mine in Pennsylvania. Upon moving to Lorain in August 1939 he worked as a body shop repairman before joining the Laborer's Union # 758. He retired in August 1975. His favorite hobbies were gardening, woodworking and playing various musical instruments.

Mr. Zurinsky is survived by his wife of 64 years Blanche (nee Zmitravich) Zurinsky, daughter, Jean M. Connor of Lorain, sons, Robert Zurinski, and Thomas Zurinsky both of Vermilion, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brothers Alexander Zurinsky of Eastlake, Ohio and his brother Anthony Zurinsky of DuBois, Pennsylvania.

He is preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Anne (nee Balanocis) Zurinskas, sisters Mary McGuire and Betty Siders, and his brother William Zurinsky.

Friends may call at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Lithuanian Church in DuBois, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, December 30, 2003, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at the church with Father Zab Amar officiating. Alfred T. Zurinsky will be buried at St. Joseph's Church Cemetery in DuBois, Pennsylvania.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035. The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio is handling the arrangements.
