Margaret D. Stejno, 77, Member of PLAV Auxiliary and drill team
Margaret D. Stejno, (nee Dzoba), 77, of Lorain, died Wednesday December 31, 2003 at Golden Acres Nursing Home, Amherst.Born September 29, 1920, she was a Lorain resident since 1923.
She worked as a self employed hairdresser. She had worked at Jack and Heintz in Cleveland during World War II and at General Motors, in Elyria as a parts inspector.
She graduated from Lorain High School in 1938 and from Lorain Cosmetology School. She was a member of the PLAV Auxiliary and drill team. She did volunteer work at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church where she was active with the drill team. She was an excellent athlete.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Mindzak of Lorain, a brother George Dzoba of Lorain and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 2002; 3 brothers, William, Michael, and John Dzoba; 3 sisters, Susan Kish, Ann Yurovich and Helen Karpinski, and her parents, William and Mary (nee Hulay) Dzoba.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain, Ohio. Father Bob Glepko, pastor will officiate.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
