Lawrence "Larry" Adler, 49, Enjoyed car shows and his grandkids

Lawrence “Larry” Adler, 49, of Elyria, died Friday, January 2, 2004 at Elyria Memorial Hospital Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a short illness.

Born October 15, 1954 in Cleveland, he moved to Lorain a year later. In 1975 he settled in Elyria where he has lived ever since.

For the past 3 years, Larry had been working as a self-employed home delivery contractor for Federal Express in Old Brooklyn, Ohio.

He enjoyed attending car shows, collecting antique cars, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving is his son Larry of Elyria, daughter Laura Kmitt of Elyria, 8 grandchildren, brothers Ronald of Mentor and Dennis of Chardon, sisters Jacqueline Grizzell and Judy Mercurio both of Lorain, and his long time friend Pamela Webb, of Elyria.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin Adler in 1989 and Jean (nee Narewski) Adler in 1990, and a brother Bobby in 1953.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Art Conrad, pastor of Abbe Road Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
