John C. Ricco, 91, Enjoyed woodcraft, cooking, and fishing

He was born March 6, 1912 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and had resided in Elyria since 1934 moving from Lorain.
Mr. Ricco worked for the Lake Terminal Railroad in Lorain as a welder for 40 years retiring in 1969.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township. Mr. Ricco was a member and past president of Union Local #2186 in which he was one of the original organizers.
Mr. Ricco served with the Elyria Township Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter for many years. He enjoyed woodcraft, cooking, gardening, and fishing.
He is survived by his sons John P. Ricco of Eastlake, Louis J. Palmer of Wellsburg, West Virginia and Edward W. Palmer of Wheeling, West Virginia, daughters Mary Ann Wallace of Lorain and Mary Lou McDivitt of Elyria and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary (nee Kinder) in 1962, second wife Romaine (nee Zullo) in 1977, third wife Anna Palmer-Ricco (nee Kalinowski) on September 6, 1996, sons Thomas Ricco, William Ricco, and Raymond J. Palmer in 1998, brother Benny Ricco on November 25, 1991, sisters Rosa Proia on November 17, 1992, Leticia Letty Pacetti on June 5, 2001 and Helen Pompei on August 30, 2003.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January, 6, 2004 at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A funeral mass will follow on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Road, Elyria. The Rev. Gaetano Menegatto will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
