Wayne A. Yates, 48, Co-owner of Kansas Avenue Hair Styles

Born May 17, 1955 in Lorain, he has been a lifelong area resident.

Wayne and his wife, Karoline co-owned and operated Kansas Avenue Hair Styles on Kansas Avenue in Lorain for the past 20 years. Prior to this, he worked at Swinger Coil Systems, Cleveland as a manager for 10 years.

He was an avid guitar player, and enjoyed music, and liked to exercise and work at his business.

Surviving him is his wife of 23 years, Karoline (nee Royal); a son: Aaron Lee Yates, of Lorain; his mother: Mary Ann Yates, of Lorain; brothers: Jack, Gary, and Bruce Yates; and sisters: Kathleen Vernon, Sheila Yates, and Donna Yates.

His father, Oscar Yates, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home- 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Reverend Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
