Michael K. Baldwin, 46, Enjoyed billards and being with his family

Michael K. “Max” Baldwin, age 46, of Lorain, died on Monday, January 05, 2004 in the Emergency Room at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center- West, following a sudden illness.

Born February 16, 1957 in Madison, WV, he had lived in the Lorain and Vermilion areas for most of his life.

Michael was a 1976 graduate of Vermilion High School. He was the owner/operator of the former Mascot Landscaping and Lawn Business in Lorain for many years. Most recently, he was employed at Stud Welding Associates for the past 10 years as a machinist.

Max had coached little league baseball for a number of years in Lorain.

He enjoyed collecting clowns, hot wheel cars, pitching horseshoes, billiards, and enjoyed being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years: Gayleene (nee Heilman); son: Alex Baldwin, at home; 2 daughters: Ashlee Silva, at home, and Kristine Baldwin of Vermilion; 1 granddaughter: Alivia Baldwin; mother: Virginia (nee Sparks) Speckhart, of Lorain; father: John Speckhart of Lorain, and honorary mom: Elsie Baldwin of Amherst; brothers: Harley, of Lorain, and Glenn of Louisville, Kentucky; 4 sisters: Tami Wilbanks of Memphis, TN, Diane Citro of Lorain, Sue Bernard of Rockledge, FL and Judy Giannuzzi of Lorain; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father: Clyde E. Baldwin.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home; 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held in Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Chuck Davis, pastor of First Assembly of God, Vermilion, officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
