Mary T. Gelonese, 82, Enjoyed country music and walking

Mary T. Gelonese, age 82, of Lorain, died Thursday January 8, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following an extended illness.

Miss. Gelonese was born August 29, 1921 in Lorain and had been a life long resident of the city. Mary was formerly employed as an assembler at the Lorain Stove Works for a number of years; she had also worked for the Modern Troy Laundry Company of Lorain.

She was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter who hobbies included country music and walking.

Survivors include her brother: James Gelonese of Amherst and sisters: Annette Creitz of Magnolia, New Jersey and Helen Watson of Lorain, along with five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Bruno Sr. and Frances (nee Ferreri) Gelonese, and by brothers: Joseph, Anthony, and a second brother named Anthony.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway – Lorain. The Reverend Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.

The family suggests memorials in her memory to the Saint Peter School Endowment Fund – 3601 Oberlin Avenue – Lorain, Ohio 44053.
