Guillermo "Tato" Torres Rios, 68, Enjoyed gardening and model cars

Born on July 23, 1935 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he has lived in Lorain for the past 14 years. He has also lived in Del Rey Beach, Florida, where he lived and worked for 25 years as a landscaper.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Tato enjoyed gardening, walking, collecting model cars, and traveling around the country.

He is survived by his three brothers, Hector Torres of Lorain, Aurelio Torres Rios and Audali Torres Rios, both of Utuado, Puerto Rico, numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents Gil Torres and Ramona Rios, sisters Gladys Salva in 1979 and Olga Velez Gonzalez in 2002.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2004 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place in Puerto Rico.
