Nicholas Vincent Statford, 18, Enjoyed drawing, reading and music

Photo of Nicholas Vincent Statford Nicholas Vincent Statford, 18 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in Community Health Partners West after a life long illness with Cystic Fibrosis.

He was born August 10, 1985 in Elyria, Ohio and has been a life long Vermilion resident.

He volunteered at Rainbows Babies and Children’s Hospital. He enjoyed drawing, reading, playing Nintendo and listening to music.

He is survived by his mother and step father, Justine and Mark Outland of Vermilion; a brother, Dominic Statford of Vermilion, 2 step sisters, Jenny Outland of Amherst and Jessica Outland of Elyria. Other survivors include his grandmother, Nancy Statford of Vermilion; step grandmother, Betty Outland of Amherst, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Norman Statford and his step grandfather, Robert T. Outland.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Friday January 16, 2004 at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Nelson Beaver, pastor of St. Peter Catholic Church in Norwalk, officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
