Richard E. Haas, 73, Enjoyed Fishing
Richard E. Haas, 73, of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at the Oak Hills Nursing Home in Lorain following a lengthy illness.He was born June 29, 1932 in Amherst and resided in Amherst most of his life.
Mr. Haas served in the Navy and was employed for thirty years as a burner for American Am-Ship at the Lorain Shipyards before retiring. He enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Haas is survived by his wife of 25 years, Alma (nee Nicholas); three sons, Richard Jr. and Bill both of Ashland, and Joshua (Brandi) of Amherst; stepsons, Calvin New of Vermilion and Allen New of Amherst and a daughter, Felicia Mitchell (Joe) of Amherst; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Alice (nee Price) Haas.
Mr. Haas remains are being donated to science for anatomical research.
