Lorraine D. Golden, 89, Enjoyed crosswords, movies, and football

Lorraine D. Golden (nee Marsh), 89, of Avon Lake, formerly of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004 at Anchor Lodge, Lorain following a brief illness.

Mrs. Golden was born, May 11, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois and had lived in Avon Lake since 1948.

Mrs. Golden worked in the office for a time at the Lorain Morning Journal and the Elyria Chronicle Telegram. She retired from the office of the Lorain County Metropolitan Park District in the mid 1970’s. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Avon Lake. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, old movies, and watching football.

Her first husband, James S. Maher, died in 1956 and her second husband William Golden died in 1975. She is survived by a son, James J. Maher (Janet) of Avon Lake, a granddaughter, Kimberly A. King of North Ridgeville, and a grandson Richard Sisson of Sandusky. Other survivors include a granddaughter Audrey and a grandson Alex. Besides her husbands, she is preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Sisson a brother Edward Marsh and her parents Edward M. and Otilia Marsh.

Private services will be held. Rev. Mr. Howard J. Masony from St. Joseph Church will officiate. Interment will also be private in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, 44012. Arrangements are by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake.
