Martha H. Scheid, 80, Enjoyed Camping and Traveling
Martha H. Scheid (nee Biro), 80 of Lorain, died Thursday, January 15, 2004 in Community Health Partners, Lorain after a sudden illness.
She was born September 29, 1923 in Elyria. Martha attended Elyria Schools moving to Lorain as a teenager. She has been a Lorain residence since that time.
She was a homemaker and had worked for several years as an inspector for General Motors before she was married. She also served as a Precinct worker for the Lorain Board of Elections for Ward 7 and was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Lorain.
Martha loved spending time in Defuniak Springs, Florida at their winter home. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband to all 48 states and also Canada and Mexico. Martha also enjoyed crafts and flower gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Richard G. Scheid, daughter, Marcia D. Fuller of Vermilion, sisters Alice Kucharik of Lorain and Marge Green of Palm Bay, FL.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Andrew and Julia (nee Gunda) Biro; daughter, Marie (1968), brother, David Biro; and sister, Florence Zacharias (1994).
Private family services will be held at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
