Marguerite E. Rojas, 87, Nurses' aid at St. Josephs for 26 years
Marguerite E. Rojas, (nee Bishop), 87, of Lorain, died on Friday, January 16, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.Born on November 6, 1916 in Lyons, Kansas, she moved to Cleveland in 1940, then to Lorain in 1955.
She was employed as a nurses’ aid in the pediatrics department of St. Joseph Hospital for 26 years, retiring in 1982.
Marguerite enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by her three sons: Robert Stapleton of Peculiar, Missouri, Warren Stapleton of Crowley, Texas, and Lupe Rojas, Jr., of Lorain, six daughters: Bonnie Leck of Spokane, Washington, Janice Moody of Priest, Idaho, Julia Martinez, Patricia Harris, Gloria Kovacs and Darlene Rojas, all of Lorain, 27 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Lupe Rojas, Sr., in 1997, and by her parents Fred and Laura (nee Edie) Bishop.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 19, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 4:30 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria, Ave., Lorain. Tony DeGracia, Deacon of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain will officiate.
