Mary Virginia Burrows, 80, Enjoyed quilting and painting
Mary Virginia Burrows (nee Stoneking), age 80, of Lorain, died on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, following a lengthy illness.Born on February 8, 1923 in Lewis County, West Virginia, she had moved to Elyria in 1950. Mary was employed as an inspector at Milford Rivet Company, Elyria for 21 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge 55 Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose Lake Erie Lodge #167. She enjoyed quilting and painting.
She is survived by her sons: John Edison Rowan of Phillip, West Virginia, William Hayword Rowan of Oberlin, Ohio and Gaylord Ray Rowan of Wheeling, West Virginia, 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, brothers Willis Linger of West Virginia and Edward Bennett of Canada, sister Irene Taylor of Weston, West Virginia, and Audrey Lowther of Weston, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Coy Eugene Burrows in 1983, son Ronald in 1999, brother Ray Stoneking and sister Edna Bowen.
Services were private. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain handled all of the arrangements.
