Barbara E. Kallas, 57, Enjoyed reading, baking, and family

She was born October 4, 1946 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. She was a 1964 graduate of Admiral King High School in Lorain.
She worked as a library assistant at the Lorain Public Library Main Branch and Avon Branch for 3 � years.
She was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Elyria Township where she participated in the church bible study. She enjoyed reading, baking, and being with her family.
She is survived by her son David Kallas of Lorain, daughter Beth Trask of Groton, Connecticut, son Jonathan Kallas of Lorain, parents Michael and Emily (nee Gidycz) Costin of Lorain, sisters Phyllis Garcia and Karen Smith, both of Lorain, and brother Dale Costin of South Amherst. She was preceded in death by her sister Marcia Costin in 1997.
The family will receive friends Sunday form 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Open Door, 43275 Telegraph Road, Elyria Township. The Rev. Jim Mindling, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
