Barbara Jones Parsons, 73, Accomplished pianist, enjoyed travel
Barbara Jones Parsons, 73, of Sheffield Lake, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center following a lengthy illness.Mrs. Parsons was born on June 11, 1930 in Lorain, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a graduate of Lorain High School and graduated with high honors from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in psychology. She also worked as a real estate agent.
She enjoyed swimming and traveling. She was an accomplished pianist and seamstress. Over the years, she supported charitable causes including the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Mrs. Parsons is survived by two daughters Yvonne Marie Parsons Poindexter of Nashville, TN, Suzanne Delight Kocak, with whom she resided in recent months and Dr. Dana F. Parsons, DO, a physician with Community Health Partners. Also surviving is her former husband Fred Parsons and their seven grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Walter A. and Rachael E. (nee Rambeau) Jones.
There is a family gathering on Thursday, January 22, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
An additional opportunity to see the family will be held on Friday, January 23, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. until Memorial Service time at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 512 N. Main Street, Wellington with Rev. James Reymann, pastor of St. Patrick's and Rev. Christopher Robinson, chaplain at Community Health Partners officiating.
