Edna A. Pinson, 73, Enjoyed collecting dolls
Edna A. Pinson (nee McCoy), 73 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Community Health Partners H&S Center in Lorain following a brief illness.She was born February 12, 1930 in Littlerock, Virginia and raised in Kentucky. She has been a resident of Amherst since 1963.
In addition to being a housewife and mother, she was an active member of Broadway Assembly Church in Lorain where she was a Sunday school teacher in the junior department. She enjoyed collecting dolls and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her son Jerry D. Pinson of Brooks, Kentucky; her daughters Karen Ward and Marcia Scott, both of Lorain, Vicky Sebastian of Sandy Springs, Kentucky, and Krista Zirkle of Amherst; twenty-three grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; her sisters Ledna Mea Ratliff and Janice Marie Ratliff, both of Pikevill, Kentucky, and Anna Rae Taylor of Vermilion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years Victor K. Whitey Pinson on May 14, 1996; by her infant son Kenneth Ray; her great granddaughters Miranda and Amanda Ward; and by her parents Okey and Lee Tillie Mae McCoy (nee Adams)
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hemple Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. from Braodway Assembly Church; 5495 Broadway, Lorain. The Rev. Mark Lantz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
