Richard M. "Bubba" Mulkey, 48, Enjoyed fishing and gardening
Richard N. Bubba Mulkey, age 48, of Lorain died on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center, West, following a sudden illness.Born June 24, 1955 in Pikeville, Kentucky, he came to Lorain in 1957 and has lived here since.
Richard attended Temple University for 2 years and received his degree in teaching and mathematics. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years, serving Ft. Benning, Georgia and in Germany.
He was formerly employed as a tow motor operator for 10 years at Innotech Industry, Elyria. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf video games, spending time with his nephews, and herb gardening.
He is survived by his mother: Beatrice (nee McKinney) Mulkey, of Lorain; sisters: Nancie Adkins, Lisa Dabrowski, Bonnie Mulkey, all of Lorain, Linda Mathes of Manassas, Virginia, and Matilda Hall of Harold, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Marvin F. Mulkey in 1999; brother: John Mulkey; and sister: Brenda Mulkey.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 25, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Chapel, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Rickie Keesee, associate pastor of Midway Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain. The Disabled American Veterans, Louis Paul Croy Chapter 20, will conduct full military honors.
