Andrew Papp, 88, U.S. Army Veteran

Andrew Papp, age 88, of Grafton passed away Sunday evening in Allen Medical Center in Oberlin after a long illness.

He was born Monday, March 1, 1915 in Medina, and lived in the Grafton area over 55 years. Mr. Papp served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 as Surgical Technician in the Europeon Theater. He owned and operated Regis Industrial Supply for over 40 yrs., making mill knives for the Rubber Industry, and various other cutting tools & supplies.

He is a member of LaGrange Masonic Lodge #399 for many years, Mariners, Al Koran Shrine, Lyndon Chapter O.E.S. #361 in LaGrange where he served as Worthy Patron in 1974. He was also a member of Hinkson-Hysell VFW Post 3341, & Moose Lodge of Elyria.

He enjoyed photography and traveling. He is survived by 1 Step-Daughter Sherrill Matson of Wellington, Ohio 1 Brother in Law, and 1 Sister in Law, several nieces & nephews.

Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm with funeral services Wednesday in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kathryn Ketchum pastor of Pilgrim United Church of Christ off. LaGrange Masonic Lodge #399 will conduct services Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm in the funeral home. Milhalis VFW Post #1079 will conduct military graveside services at the cemetery. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
