Marie R. Schweikle, 72, Enjoyed her grandchildren
Marie R. Schweikle (nee Hellmann), age 72, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the Holy Family Home in Parma following a one-year illness with cancer.She was born April 9, 1931 in Manhattan, New York and lived in Avon Lake the past 31 years. Marie was employed for 17 years as an emergency room secretary at St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Mrs. Schweikle is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Smith (Keith) of Perrysburg, Ohio and Loretta Pate (Bob) of Avon Lake; two sons, Martin Schweikle of Avon lake and Peter Schweikle (Tina) of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. (1994) and her parents, Eugene and Madeline (nee Bannon) Hellmann.
Friends may call in the gathering area of St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd. Avon Lake from 11:30 a.m. until noon on Tuesday January 27 and will be followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at the church at noon. Fr. Timothy J. O’Connor will officiate. Burial will take place Thursday, January 29 at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
