Geraldine L. Ursic, 80, Took great pride in her home

Geraldine L. Ursic, (nee Dorsey), age 80, of Lorain died Monday, January 26, 2004 at Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center following an illness of one month.

Mrs. Ursic was born May 29, 1923 in Lorain and had been a resident of Lorain County for most of her life. She was a graduate of Lorain High School.

A former parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter in Lorain, she assisted her late husband in the operation of his tavern, The 2200 Bar, which was formerly located at the northeast corner of East 28th Street and Grove Avenue. Mrs. Ursic also took great pride in her home and found immense enjoyment in meticulously maintaining it for entertaining and frequent family gatherings.

She is survived by her son Frank Ursic, Jr. of Lorain, two grandchildren, brother Harry Dorsey of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and sister Gladys Rollason of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank “Bozo” Ursic in 1986, bye her parents Dorley Dorsey, Sr. and Anna (nee Hennencheck) Dorsey, brother Dorley Dorsey, Jr., and sister Jean Heider.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Mr. John Slatcoff, permanent deacon of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
