Ruth V. Dandrea, 82, Enjoyed making straw dolls and wreathes
Ruth V. (nee Gove) Dandrea, 82, of Lorain died on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at her home in Lorain following a short illness.
Mrs. Dandrea was born on April 19, 1921 in Lorain, OH and was a lifetime resident. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1939 and was a member of Christian Temple Disciples of Christ Church.
She was a lifetime member of the Bow & Barrel Archery Club. She and her late husband Emil, were competitive archers, winning several trophies. She also served on the food committee of the Archery Club. She was an accomplished seamstress, especially well known for her suits and prom dresses. She also decorated wedding cakes. She was very artistic and enjoyed decoupage, making straw dolls and wreathes.
Mrs. Dandrea is survived by her daughter, Etta J. Ramos of Sheffield Lake, sons, Dale T Dandrea of Lorain, Lewis F. Dandrea of Birmingham, OH, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and sister Doris Godles of Lorain.
She is preceded in death by her husband Emil T. Dandrea in 1984, her parents Willis F. & Etta (nee White) Gove, brothers Clarence Gove, Frank Gove, James Gove, Uriel Gove, and sisters Margarite Jones, and Grace Mihok.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Sunday, February 1, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2004 at 11:30 am in Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals in Lorain, OH with Rev. Bradley J. Donahue, pastor of Christian Temple Disciples of Christ, officiating. Ruth V. Dandrea will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Twp., OH.
