Betty Green, 78, Worked at several dry cleaners in Lorain County
Betty Jean Green (nee Takacs), age 78, of Oberlin, died on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Oberlin, after a lengthy illness.Born on April 19, 1925 in Oberlin, Ohio, she moved to Elyria in 1989.
She attended Cleveland Academy of Cosmetology.
She was employed as a press-operator at several dry cleaning companies include Jack Knight Dry Cleaning in the 1940’s, Sunday Dry Cleaners and Campus Dry Cleaners in Oberlin in the 1970’s.
She is survived by her brother Wilbur Takacs of Oberlin, sister Hilda Lender of Elyria, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Gerald A. Green in 1993, parents Steve and Agnes (nee McIntire) Takacs.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
