Goldia Mae Molnar, 93, Enjoyed crocheting and the Cleveland Indians

Goldia Mae Molnar, age 93, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Lorain, died on Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Wyandot Manor Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky.

She was born August 3, 1910 in Cygnet, OH, and had lived in Lorain most of her life, until moving to Upper Sandusky several years ago.

General Industries employed Mrs. Molnar as an edger for 30 years. She retired in 1974. She later worked at the front desk of the Kennedy Plaza in Lorain for 22 years.

Goldia was a member of St. Joseph Church, in Lorain, and the Knights of St. John Auxillary since 1930. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and watching the Cleveland Indians.

Surviving her is her son: Charles S. Molnar of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother: Charles L. Thompson of Elyria, Ohio; and sister: Margaret Zimmerman of Wellington, Ohio.

Preceding her in death is her husband: Ernest S. Molnar in 1962; sons: Ronald and Ernest; great-grandson: Jason Molnar; brother: William Thompson; and sisters: Doris Potchurek, and Leona Walter.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Riechlin-Cooley Funeral Home; 2920 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Mr. Luis Moldonado will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are recommended to the donor’s choice.
