Stella Andrzejewski, 95, Enjoyed baking, quilting, and gardening
Stella Andrzejewski, age 95, formerly of Lorain and Elyria, died Monday, February 9, 2004 at the Life Center of Orange Park in Orange Park, Florida, following a lengthy illness.She was born December 31, 1908 in Toledo, Ohio and had lived in Lorain for 62 years, moving to Elyria in 1996. She had lived in Orange Park, Florida since 2003.
She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lorain and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a former member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Toledo and the Lorain United Polish Club. She enjoyed baking for schools and church functions, quilting and sewing, canning, and gardening.
Survivors include her sons Dr. David Andrzejewski of Orange Park, Florida and Robert Andrzejewski of Lynnbrook, New York, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brother Ted Szelagowski of Waterville, Ohio, sisters Mary Kokocinskji and Alice Kaczmarek, both of Toledo.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Alexander A. Andrzejewski in 1990, daughter Carol in 2002, parents Stanley and Antonina (nee Wesolowski) Szelagowski, sisters Sophie Oberski and Helen Kover, brothers, Walter and Joseph Szelagowski.
Friends may call Monday, February 16, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Ohio. The Altar and Rosary Society will conduct a rosary service at 3:00 p.m.
Prayers will said at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 followed by at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Lorain. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
