Martha Jean Dayton, 57, Enjoyed plants, gardening, and cooking

Martha Jean Dayton (nee Papinchak), 57, of Vermilion, died Thursday, February 12, 2004 in Community Health Partners West after a one month illness.

She was born March 3, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA. She has been a Vermilion resident for the past 35 years moving from Lorain.

She worked as an office worker for the Vermilion Board of Education. She was an assistant to the treasurer and most recently secretary to the assistant superintendent. She enjoyed plants, gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Howard of Ocala, FL; a son, Craig Dayton of Lakewood; 2 granddaughters; 2 sisters Ruth Kuchta of Joliet , IL and Helen Musser of Pittsburgh, PA, 2 brothers, Joe Papinchak of Gaston, SC and James Papinchak of Pittsburgh, PA and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Michael and Marie (nee Kostelnik) Papinchak.

Friends may call Sunday, February 15, 2004 from 4-7 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. the Riddle Funeral Home. The Very Reverend John Kuchta, pastor of St. Nicholas Orthodox Catholic Church, Joliet, Illinois, brother-in-law of Mrs. Dayton, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
