Edith M. Brown, 87, Played several instruments, enjoyed music

Edith M. Brown (nee Anderson), 87, of Avon Lake passed away, Friday, February 13, 2004 at her home following a short illness.

Mrs. Brown was born, July 20, 1916 in Youngwood, Pennsylvania and came to the area in 1955.

Mrs. Brown worked as a cook at Fruehauf Trailer, Avon Lake and then as a baker at the Aqua Marine Resort, Avon Lake. She was a member of the Broadway Assembly Church, where she was active in the music ministry. She at one time was the church's orchestra leader. She also played several instruments including the piano, trumpet and violin. She enjoyed Christian Music.

Mrs. Brown is survived by a son Ronald Brown (Carolyn) of Avon Lake, 4 grandchildren, Diana, Ronald J., Jason and James Jr.; 4 great grandchildren, Jennifer, Joann, Jason and Hannah and a great-great grandson, Dylan. Other survivors include 2 sisters, Bertha Furlong of Huntingdon, PA and Ruth Dietz of Amherst and a Brother Pete Anderson of Greensburg, PA She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Allen F. Brown, a son James Brown, parents James and Mae Bell (nee Hawk) Anderson, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd Avon Lake, Sunday, February 15, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:O0-9:OO p.m. Funeral Services will be Monday, February 16 at Broadway Assembly Church, 5495 Broadway, Lorain, at ll:OO a.m. Pastor Mark Lantz of the Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorials may be forward New Life Hospice 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, 44035.
