Mary Viola Valentini, 84, Enjoyed cooking and sewing

She was born January 14, 1920 in Lorain and had resided in Lorain most of her life. She had also lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for over 30 years.
During World War II she worked as a welder’s helper at US Steel in Lorain and later managed the food service in the plant.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She is survived by her daughter Leonora Lee R. Fieldson of Navarre, Florida, son Frank Valentini, Jr. and his wife Joanne Valentini of Dover, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and sister Josephine Moldovan of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank A. Valentini, Sr., in 1984 and her parents Peter and Rose Viola.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Rev. David Novak, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
