William Chasar, 84, Naval Veteran, serving in WWII
William Chasar, 84, of Lorain, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 in St. Joseph Hospice Residential Center Lorain after a 4 year illness.He was born October 6, 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Chasar was a veteran of the United States Navy. He served as a Bows man on the Naval vessel LST, that transported troops during World War II.
He worked as a transmission repairman for Kaminski Olds, Lorain and Abraham Auto Dealership in Amherst.
Survivors include his sister, Helen Wecht of Lorain, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Theresa (nee Kalo) Chasar; sister, Josephine Sturbant and brothers, Robert and Francis Chasar.
Services will be held at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave, Lorain, Ohio, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2004.
Deacon Ralph Krupp from the Catholic Church of St. Peter will officiate. Private interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
