Irene H. Hardik (nee Kotai), 75, of Lorain died Tuesday, February 24, 2004 in the critical care unit at Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain after a sudden illness.She was born January 19, 1929 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. She was a graduate of Lorain High School.
Mrs. Hardik was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the St. Vincent de Paul Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and sewing.
She is survived by her daughters: Irene Roberts of North Olmsted, Laura Hardik of Lorain, Joanne Towne of Amherst and Mary Asik of Lorain; 7 grandchildren, sisters: Betty Pall and Ruth Kotai, both of Lorain and brothers Steven Kotai of Elyria and Joseph Kotai of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Helen Kotai (nee Lampert) and sisters Rose Bayan and Ethel Kotai.
The family will receive friends Thursday 6-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Prayer services will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in the funeral chapel followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 8th St. & Reid Ave., Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
