Martha Florence Hembree, 70, Loved Cooking
Martha Florence Hembree (nee Doolin), 70 years of age, and a resident of Huron, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2004 at Huron Health Care Center in Huron following a lingering illness.She was born November 22, 1933 in Barbersville, Kentucky where she was raised and lived till moving to Henrietta Township at age 18. She has been a resident of the Huron Health Care Center for the last eighteen years.
She was a member of Free Pentecostal Church in South Amherst and loved cooking.
Survivors include her sons, John L. Hembree and Kenneth W. Hembree, both of Nova, Ohio and Timothy F. Hembree of Oberlin; her daughter Patricia Kay Hembree of Sandusky; four grandchildren; her brothers Sterling Doolin of Heidrick, Kentucky; Terry Doolin of Jarvis, Kentucky, Larry Doolin of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Shirley Doolin of North Carolina; her sisters Debbie Soper, Anna Ruth Burneff, June Pickard, and Helen Abner, all of Heidrick, Kentucky, Aline Payne of Cincinnati, Ohio and Roeffa Brock of Blue Ash, Ohio; and by the staff and residents at Huron Health Care Center, whom she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Arizona Doolin (nee Lundy); and by her brother Herman Doolin.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Donald New, of Vermilion, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Huron Health Care Center Activities Department; 1920 Cleveland Rd. West Huron, OH 44839.
