David W. Ballif, 77, Electrician, member of IBEW #354
David W. Ballif, 77, of Sheffield Lake died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Community Health Partners West in Lorain following a brief illness.Mr. Ballif was born in Provo, Utah and has been a resident of Lorain County for the past 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Army and the Air Force Reserve.
He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 354 for the past 39 years.
Mr. Ballif was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church in Lorain.
Survivors include his wife Jessie Marian (nee Workman); daughter Ingrid Christine Rico of Elyria; son Kurt David Ballif of Texas; 10 grandchildren; brothers Serge Lyman of Hooper, Utah, Richard Terrill of Preston, Idaho, Don Robert Ballif of Bountiful, Utah; sisters Yvonne Marion Knighton of Clearfield, Utah, Joanne Cottrell and Florine Durharn both of St. George, Utah, and Ina Rae Knighton of Forest Grove, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Ingrid Marie; son Frank Louis Ballif; grandson Christopher David Rico and parents Serge Chadwick Ballif and Ina Terrill (nee Wilcox).
Friends may call 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3501 Kolbe Rd, Lorain. Bishop Scott Engstrom will officiate.
Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery in Logan, Utah.
