Theresa J. Kaminski, 91, Enjoyed flower gardening

Theresa J. Kaminski, age 91, of Lorain, died Tuesday March 2, 2004 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home following an extended illness.

She was born May 5, 1912 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

A 1929 graduate of Lorain High School, Miss Kaminski went on to serve as a secretary, and later office manager of the Schieferstein Insurance Agency and enjoyed a career that spanned more than 50 years at that firm.

Theresa was a life-long member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain whose main hobby was flower gardening.

She is survived by her sisters: Helen Czarney of Lorain and Margaret Sweeney of Avon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Miss Kaminski was preceded in death by her parents: Michael and Josephine (nee Thomas/Tamas) Kaminski; sister: Dorothy Barlis in 1982; and by four siblings in infancy.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel; 3224 Broadway in Lorain, where a family rosary service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral chapel and will be followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church; 1454 Lexington Ave., in Lorain. The Rev. Robert Glepko, pastor of Nativity Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests memorials in Theresa’s name to either Nativity B.M.V. Catholic Church; 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain, OH 44052 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
