Irene M. Paskvan, 77, Managed Avon Oaks Country Club for 20 years

Photo of Irene M. Paskvan Irene Mary Paskvan, 77, of Vermilion, died Sunday, April 11, 2004 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 5, 1927 in Lorain, Ohio and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 54 years.

Mrs. Paskvan was a manager at Avon Oaks Country Club for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She and her husband were also co-owners of Matt's Restaurant in Vermilion for several years in the 1950’s.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion for over 50 years, the Knights of St. Johns Auxiliary in Lorain, and the Dreamers Club for over 60 years. She enjoyed dancing, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons Eric Paskvan of Brighton, MI and Brian Paskvan of Bowling Green, two daughters, Cindy Baker of Vermilion, and Pam Paskvan of Vermilion, 8 grandchildren, two brothers, Walter Konsevick of Barbert0n, and Anthony Konsevick of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paskvan, May 26, 1995 and her parents, Walter and Anna (nee Loder) Konsevick.

Friends may call Wednesday April 14, 2004 from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio where a Rosary service will be held at 2:30 p.m.

Prayers will be said Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church 731 Exchange St. Vermilion, with Reverend Jim Holmer, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
