Geneva Mills, 63, Enjoyed attending Christian Life Church of God

Geneva Mills (nee Smith), 63 years of age, and a resident of Amherst passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness.

Born March 3, 1941 in Knox County, Kentucky, she was raised in Bell County, Kentucky. She has been a resident of Amherst for the last thirty-three years.

She was employed at Tudy's Restaurant in Lorain for 13 years, retiring in 1998 as a cook. She loved attending and was a member of Christian Life Church of God in Lorain.

Survivors include her husband of forty-six years: Hubert Mills; her sons: Jerry Wayne Mills and David Alan Mills, both of Amherst and Ricky Lee Mills of Wellington; her daughters: Linda Mills of Elyria and Sharon Szabo of Amherst; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her brothers: Jack Smith of Blanch, Kentucky, Charles Smith and Joe Smith, both of Hamilton, Ohio; and her sisters: Hazel Warren of Blanch, Kentucky, Ella Hooker of Middlesburg, Kentucky, Betty Hensley of Pineville, Ohio and Ruth Daniels of Hamilton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents Woodson and Viola Smith (nee: Done); and by her brothers: Lloyd Charles Smith and Riley Smith.

Friends may call Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. from Christian Life Church of God; 3559 West Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Wallace Justice, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions can be made to the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph; 5255 North Abbe Rd, Elyria 44035.
