Kenneth M. Hagedorn, 59, Employed at Invacare, active in church

Kenneth Martin Hagedorn, 59 years of age, and a resident of Amherst passed away Friday, May 7, 2004 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain following a ten-year illness.

He was born August 27, 1944 in Lakewood, and raised in Bay Village. He moved to Avon Lake in 1966 and Amherst has been his home since 1971.

He was employed as a tool and die maker for Invacare in Elyria. He was also employed at Donn Products, Amherst Metal Products, and ITT Lethonia Doun Lighting in Vermilion. Kenneth was an Amateur Radio Operator, call letters WB8QIJ, and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Evelyn Hagedorn (nee: Haag); his daughter Ann Escandon of Avon; two grandchildren; and sister Joanne Casberg of Cheshire, CT and Eileen Repetti of Murfreesboro, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Helen Hagedorn (nee: Meilander).

Friends may call Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul Lutheran Church; 115 Central Dr., Amherst. The Rev. Gary Bernath, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Memorial Park, Hinckley, Ohio.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church; 115 Central Dr., Amherst 44001.
