Dennis D. Lugar, 57, PolyOne - Manager of Health, Safety and Environmental
Dennis D. Lugar, 57, of Lorain, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at his home after a brief illness.He was born January 17, 1947 in Covington, Virginia and had resided in Lorain most of his life.
Mr. Lugar served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as an SP(5) in Germany.
He earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering through Fenn College at Cleveland State University. He also became certified as a Chemical Process Equipment Mechanic.
Mr. Lugar worked at PolyOne in Avon Lake as the manger of health, safety and environmental. He was a life member of AMVETS Post #47 in Lorain and was an avid golfer and devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Veronica (nee Koczan); daughters: Michelle Babcock of Andover, New Jersey, Melanie Robinson of Lorain, Monica Lugar at home; mother Helen Lockhart of Lorain, brothers: Dave Lugar and Donald Lugar, both of Lorain, sister Darlene Smith of Circleville and half brother James Lugar of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his father, William Lugar.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 17, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 6:30 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain. The Rev. Mathew Darin, pastor, will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by AMVETS Post #47 of Lorain.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel of Lorain.
