Agustin Rojas Cruz, 78, Enjoyed watching Cleveland baseball

Agustin Rojas "Tatin" Cruz, age 78, of Lorain, was dead on arrival in the Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West in Lorain, on Thursday, May 13, 2004, following a brief illness.

Born on October 1, 1925 in Garrochales de Arecibo, Puerto Rico, he had lived in Lorain since 1952, coming from Puerto Rico. He had been employed at the Ford Motor Company in Brookpark for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain and was a member of the U.A.W. Union Local #1250 in Brookpark. He enjoyed watching wrestling, boxing and the Cleveland Indian's Baseball on the television. He also enjoyed carpentry work.

He is survived by his wife- Esthervina (nee-Reyes) Cruz of 56 years, whom he married June 15, 1947; 2 sons- Noel Rojas and Damian Rojas, both of Lorain; 6 daughters- Migdalia Rojas and Sonia Rojas, both of Lorain, Leticia Rojas Ulm of Red Feather, Colorado, Noemi Rojas and Nora Rojas, both of South Miami Beach, Florida and Rafaela Rojas of Aventura, Florida; 4 grandsons; 3 brothers- Fernando Rojas, Onecimo Rojas and Juan Rojas, all of Puerto Rico; 3 sisters- Carmen Rojas, Rogelia Rojas and Rosa Maria Martinez, all of Puerto Rico.

He was preceded in death by his parents- Tomas Rojas and Agueda Cruz, sister Anna Maria Rojas; and one brother, Tomas Rojas, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Services will be held on Wednesday, at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a mass at 9:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, with the Rev. William Thaden, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
