Robert "Boots" K. Russell Sr., 76, Enjoyed Woodworking
Robert Boots K. Russell, Sr., 76, of Lorain died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at home following a sudden illness.He was born September 8, 1927 in Cleveland. Robert was a World War II Navy veteran earning an American Area Camp Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was retired from General Motors where he worked in Automotive Assembly for 28 years.
He was involved with Cub Scout Pack 350, Boy Scout Pack 350 and Explorer Pack 350 all in Lorain. He enjoyed woodworking, making crafts and building furniture.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Josephine Russell; daughter Brenda Lee Russell and Son Robert Russell Jr.; brother Raymond Hunter; sister Judith Moore of Akron and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gordon Hunter; and sisters June Drotes and Paula Jean Brubeck.
Friends may call Sunday, May 16, 2004 from 6 to 8 pm at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road, Elyria where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am. The Rev. Laurie Miller of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Avon where Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20 will conduct military honors.
