Virginia L. Bentley, 60, Collected candles, angels, and dreamcycles

Photo of Virginia L. Bentley Virginia L. "Ginny" Bentley, (nee Hatcher), age 60, of Lorain, died on Friday, May 28, 2004 in the emergency room at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center - West, Lorain, following a sudden illness.

Born on January 31, 1944 in Harold, Kentucky, she moved to Lorain in 1952. Ginny enjoyed collecting candles, angels and dreamcycles.

She is survived by her husband 32 years: James W. Bentley, brothers, Jerry and David Hatcher, both of Lorain, Edgar Hatcher of Amherst Township, sister Helen Hatcher of Allen, Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Stanley Hatcher in 1977 and Lillian (nee Turner) McCleese in 1994, sister, Anna Lois Hanes in 2001, paternal grandparents David Herald & Ada Elizabeth Hatcher, maternal grandparents George & Elizabeth (nee Hamilton) Turner, and step maternal grandfather Watt Akers.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 31, 2004 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. James E. Smucker, pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio.
