Lydia Munoz, 57, Homemaker, enjoyed Spanish music and dancing

Photo of Lydia Munoz Lydia Munoz, (nee Santiago) 57, of Lorain, died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Cleveland, following a sudden illness.

Born November 15, 1946 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain in 1947 and has lived here since. Lydia was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, Spanish music, and dancing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain.

Surviving is her husband of 38 years, Juan, a son, Juan Munoz Jr., of Elyria, daughters, Iris Ortiz, of Lorain, Lizette Munoz-May, of Elyria, and Amanda Munoz, of Lorain, 3 grandchildren, her mother, Maria Ortiz, of Lorain, brothers, Juan Santiago, Jose Santiago, Angel Ortiz, and Tony Ortiz, all of Lorain, Carlos E. Santiago, of Tampa, Florida, and James Ortiz, of Elyria, sisters, Miriam Velez, Caroline Ortiz, Marylou Ortiz, and Jeanette Ortiz, all of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her father, Eliodore Santiago, in 1979, brothers, David Ortiz, in 1999, and Ramon Santiago, a sister, Luz A. Santiago, in 2003.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Wednesday 8:45 a.m. followed by mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
