Wesley H. DeWitt Sr., 81, Enjoyed flee markets and traveling
Wesley H. DeWitt Sr. 81, of Vermilion, died Monday, May 31, 2004 in Grace Hospital, Amherst.He was born July 16th 1922 in Royal Oak, Michigan. He lived in Detroit, served for 6 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and moved to Vermilion in 1961.
He worked as a mill wright for Ford Motor Lorain. He had worked for International Harvester, Fort Wayne, IN and Grizzly Manufacturing, Paulding, OH. He enjoyed traveling; flee markets, selling cabbage patch dolls, hot wheels cars, and beanie babies.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Myrtle Dewitt (nee Hearring), sons, Wesley DeWitt Jr. of Oberlin, Dennis DeWitt of Huron, and Richard Dewitt of Amherst, several grandchildren & great grandchildren; brother, Edward L. DeWitt of Detroit, MI and sister, Dorothy Kirmse of Sylva, NC.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Herbert and Eva Mae (nee Block) DeWitt, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Paige Hall on June 3, 1995.
