Ralph E. Weaver, 66, Enjoyed fishing and working on his 1967 Camero
Ralph E. Weaver, 66, of Lorain, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, following a long illness.Born November 22, 1937 in Racine, West Virginia, he came to Lorain in 1964.
Ralph retired in 2000 from US Kolbe, where he worked in the shipping department as a shipper for over 32 years.
Mr. Weaver was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 1104. He enjoyed fishing and working on his 1967 Camero that he restored himself.
Surviving is his wife of 13 years: Helen (nee Driver); son: Covey Weaver, of Cleveland; step-sons: Donnie Staats, and Michael Staats, and Walter Taylor, all of Lorain; step daughters: Sharon Taylor, of Lorain, and Linda Jones, of Savanna, Georgia; brothers: Frank Weaver, of Oberlin, and Billy Joe Weaver, of Racine, West Virginia; and a sister: Edith Meyers, of Roanoke, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Covey and Thelma (nee Stone) Weaver; a son: Steven Weaver, in 2001; a brother: Jimmy Weaver; and sisters: Patsy Weaver, and Charlene Weaver.
The family will receive friends on Friday fro 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the mausoleum chapel of Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, followed by burial there.
